An existing two-story bungalow was extensively remodeled, providing the clients with the opportunity to reimagine both the front yard and back yard landscapes. Tiered planters and steps were added in the front, providing a separate pedestrian access to the residence and allowing for the creation of a level lawn play area close to the house. In the back, a pool and built in spa were added. A new outdoor seating area with a gas fire pit – covered with wood trellis- was designed immediately adjacent to the family room, and large glass doors open wide to promote the indoor- outdoor flow. There is a new BBQ island with a bar-height bluestone counter surface for casual gatherings and a dining area near the pool. The driveway was repaved to compliment the adjacent bluestone paving. A large raised planter was designed for the end of the pool at the rear property line, to provide screening and visual interest from the house. Mature shrubs were installed at side property lines for additional screening.
