Landscape improvements were focused in the back yard of an existing, recently renovated bungalow in Pacific Palisades. Specifically, an outdated above ground hot tub was removed and new raised masonry hot tub with fiberglass interior shell was installed. The paving was updated with natural stone accents that better suited the clients’ taste and complimented the stone coping at the raised hot tub. A new BBQ, storage cabinets, and refrigerator were designed in a bluestone counter island at one end of the garden, closer to the kitchen and outdoor dining area. A fire pit and new seating area were designed adjacent to the hot tub and close to the detached rec room. And a new wood fence with trellis helps enclose the hot tub and provides privacy as well as a barrier from the pool equipment. Vines to match existing mature vines were planted to grow up the trellis over time, and new trees were installed along the edge of the garden for additional privacy.
